In a historic milestone, Professor Benard Ifeanyi Odoh has been appointed as the 7th Vice-Chancellor of Nnamdi Azikiwe University (NAU), Awka. This marks a significant achievement in his illustrious career, as he becomes the first alumnus of the university to hold this prestigious position.
Professor Odoh, a renowned geophysicist and academic leader, has pledged to prioritize the interests of all staff, emphasizing unity and performance-based evaluation. He aims to elevate the university to greatness, building on its strengths and addressing its challenges.
With over two decades of academic experience, Professor Odoh has held various positions, including lecturer, senior lecturer, associate professor, and professor of geophysics. He has taught and conducted research at several institutions, including NAU, Awka, and other universities. His research interests focus on exploration geophysics, seismic interpretation, and petroleum geoscience.
Professor Odoh’s administrative experience includes serving as Head of Department, Geophysics, NAU, Awka, Dean, Faculty of Physical Sciences, NAU, Awka, and Director, Research and Development, NAU, Awka. He has demonstrated exceptional leadership skills, making him an ideal candidate for this position.
