Babangida’s Book Reveals Shocking Truths About Nigeria’s Past

In a shocking revelation, former Nigerian leader General Ibrahim Babangida has finally confirmed several long-held truths about the country’s tumultuous past in his new book, “A Journey in Service”. The book sheds light on the 1966 coup, which has been widely misinterpreted as an “Igbo coup”.

According to Babangida, the coup was actually a revolution aimed at regime change, with the goal of installing Obafemi Awolowo as the provisional president of Nigeria. This revelation contradicts the long-held narrative that the coup was an attempt by the Igbo people to dominate the country.

Babangida’s book also exposes the destructive lie that the 1966 coup was an Igbo coup, which was perpetuated to trigger anti-Igbo ethnic tension on a national scale. This lie, according to Babangida, was motivated by a satanic desire to levy a genocide against the Igbo people.

Other revelations in the book include the fact that Chukwuemeka Nzeogwu, one of the leaders of the coup, was more Hausa than Igbo in his mannerisms and values. Additionally, the book highlights that the ranks of the coup plotters were populated by officers from various ethnic groups, not just the Igbo.

The author of the article, Aloy Ejimakor, commends Babangida for revealing these truths, which have been hidden for decades. Ejimakor hopes that the book will bring closure and comfort to the Igbo people, who have borne the burden of these lies for over half a century.

The article concludes by calling for national contrition and political recompense for the Igbo people, who have suffered greatly due to the perpetuation of these lies. Ejimakor also demands personal atonement from those who concocted and spread these lies, which nearly led to the wipeout of the Igbo race.
